Bandai Tamashii Nations & Bluefin Distribution Interview - SDCC 2014!

Check it out folks. You asked the questions, they had the (most) answers.

Here's a few questions from the interview:

How many Godzilla universe S.H.MonsterArts are planned in a year? Is it a set number or does it vary depending on what’s on the workbench?

Hannah: It’s not a set number. It can be anywhere between 2-3 characters. We don’t want to oversaturate the market with too many figures of the same line. We also consider the popularity of certain characters as well as the timing.

It seems that more and more Godzilla monsters are being released as a Web Exclusive vs. a regular release. What’s the reasoning behind this?

Hannah: It has more to do with the Japanese market. [Through Bluefin Distribution] web exclusives are regular releases for North America. It definitely has to do with the domestic Japanese market popularity than it does with the North American popularity.

What was the decision behind releasing Godzilla (2014) as the 60th Anniversary piece instead of Godzilla (1954)?

Xavier: Tamashii Nations has a really broad schedule for their releases. I can’t really comment on their decision, but Godzilla (2014), the movie itself, was a 60th Anniversary feature, so it does makes sense for the Godzilla (2014) figure to also be a part of that celebration.

SDCC 2014 Fan Questionnaire

Good news everyone! I'll be attending SDCC this year and will be conducting a questionnaire with Bandai Tamashii Nations from Japan. This questionnaire will be comprised of fan questions for the company about anything related to the S.H.MonsterArts line.

All you need to do is post your questions in the comment section on Facebook! Please read the current comments to see if someone else asked your question already. Due to the overwhelming amount of responses, not every question may be selected for the Q&A.

Bluefin Meeting Report

Had a Bluefin meeting today folks. If you are going to Comic Con San Diego this year, you will be able to pick up the Mothra & Battra Larvae Set & Godzilla (Adult Jr.). Godzilla (Adult Jr.) doesn't come out in NA until August, so this is sort of the "SDCC Exclusive" for S.H.MonsterArts. I will also have another announcement regarding SDCC stuff, but that will be revealed next Tuesday. <It's not a new monster reveal, sorry.>
